Molly Tina Turner is an Australian singer and songwriter who has received critical acclaim. Her career started in the early 1970s and has continued to the present day. Early career
In 1985, Tina Turner began her first tour of Europe. The resulting album, Private Dancer, sold millions of copies worldwide. It also won four Grammy Awards. A few years later, Tina performed at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
After her divorce from Ike Turner, she started a new music career. Her songs were well received and her performances became popular. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
In 1983, Tina remade Al Green’s hit “Let’s Stay Together”. This track reached the top 10 in the U.K. and became one of her most well-known hits.
In 1986, Tina released her second album, Break Every Rule. The album reached number 5 on the US charts.
The following year, Tina Turner and Mick Jagger toured as opening acts for the Rolling Stones. They also recorded their own album together, called Nutbush City Limits.
She was nominated for a number of awards, including a Golden Globe and a Grammy. She has since gone on to perform her songs on Broadway and on television.
She has also appeared on countless other artists’ albums. One of her best-known tunes is her cover of the popular song “Proud Mary”.

Songwriting career
Molly Tina Turner’s songwriting career had its share of highs and lows. Her first solo album, Private Dancer, sold 20 million copies worldwide. She released a few other albums in the late 1980s. Then, she suffered from a cocaine addiction. After her husband Ike died, she began to think about what her life would be like without him.

Turner was also instrumental in the early careers of various blues musicians. In fact, she was one of the earliest guitarists to successfully transfer the intensity of the blues into more commercial music.
Her career spanned five decades. She worked in many different genres. Some of her best-known hits include “Stormy Monday” and “Proud Mary”.
Turner has received two competitive Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. She also had a hit film, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, in 1985.
Throughout her career, Tina Turner had numerous attempts at suicide. She was jailed several times, including for forged cheques. However, she recovered and found success in the rock and soul genre. During her time on the road, she sang “Honky Tonky Women” with the Rolling Stones.
One of the best-selling albums of all time was the album, Private Dancer, which she released in 1984. It featured her signature song, “Please Just Wait,” which she was also credited for writing.
Aside from her solo career, she had a successful film about her autobiography, and made numerous appearances to promote it. Even today, she continues to tour. She has won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

Countdown (Australia) appearances
One of the most popular music shows on Australian television was Countdown. It aired weekly from November 1974 to July 1987. As a result, many of the performers from Countdown were well known on the musical scene.
Tina Turner was one of the first artists to appear on the show. She performed songs from her Private Dancer album. Her performance was recorded in one take. Later she also sang her new hit Ball Of Confusion.
Another performer was Molly Knowles. A self-described paper bag girl, she had an ear for talent. Although she was a singer and music producer, she maintained her down home persona.
In the mid-1970s, the music scene was less controlled. There were waves of breakout performers, and producers were busy keeping up with them. Some of the musicians were chosen for their ability to dance. Other singers were picked based on their musical style.
Roger Davies is an Australian rock manager. He was also an actor, and has appeared in American television and movies. His career has spanned decades. He has a reputation as a savvy manager and was involved in Cher’s 2003 farewell tour.
Sherbet were a pop group who enjoyed a great deal of success during the early and middle seventies. They played a variety of hits. However, the band decided to limit their performances to five songs for Countdown shows. This created scenes of fan frenzy.
In addition to her role on Countdown, Molly was also a music promoter. Having started out as a mod journalist, she later moved into the arts. Among her many high profile influences were Abba, Boy George, and Cindy Lauper.
During her time as a performer, Tina was also invited to join a Rolling Stones tour. She was also a guest on TV programs such as Saturday Night Live, and was invited to appear with Keith Richard and David Bowie.
The show was one of the first victims of public broadcasting cuts. But the show lasted a full thirteen years, making it the longest running music program in Australian TV history.
